MY Service

Vision

The vision of the MY Service (Messianic Youth Service) is:

  • To train the younger generation to serve and lead in our future Messianic congregations
  • To bless Rabbi Corey, Rebbetzin Hilary, and the TAJ mishpacha
  • To be ready to step up and serve whenever there is an emergency, such as when Rabbi cannot make it
  • To share the good news of Yeshua with Israel and the nations

Serving in the MY Service

Currently, the MY Service team meets at 10:15am every Shabbat morning to practice liturgy, pray, and prepare for MY Services. The MY Services occur monthly and include liturgy, drashot, Torah readings and processional.

Regarding MY service criteria, please keep in mind (1) that MY service is traced back to TAJ tradition of Bar and Bat Mitzvah, (2) that the criteria is a group-decision, (3) every role is equally important but with different qualifications, and (4) proper training and spiritual maturity is necessary for service

Legacy

We would like to remember our beloved teachers and mentors, Mr. Azi Holman and Mrs. Renee Brown. We are forever grateful to you both! Thank you for all your hard work, time, love, support, prayers, pioneering, and training for the original MY Service Team (Jacob, Leia, Davises, Chens).

The MY Service originated with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah training. Bar Mitzvah means “son of the commandment” and Bat Mitzvah means “daughter of the commandment.” Typically, Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidates were regular attendees of TAJ with their families for several years, learned the Aleph-Bet, and then completed a year long training with Mr. Azi Holman and Mrs. Renee Brown in preparation for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah. After the Bar/Bat Mitzvah training, b’nai Mitzvot joined the MY Service and continued their journey in learning and serving through liturgy, Hebrew readings, and the Torah service.
